*Switched with the Zone Qualifier on May 3/4 Online Tournament Signups Encouraged The Board of Directors has waived any on-line signup fees for 2008 and strongly encourages members to enter tournaments using our secure signup system. It makes things easier for everyone involved including the Tournament Director and the Treasurer. If you sign up the old fashioned way, please DO NOT staple your check to the entry form nor use anything other than blue or blank ink when writing your check. Our Treasurer's schedule dictates that he use the ATM for deposits and our big-name bank now requires that each check be posted individually at the ATM. Staple holes and non-standard ink colors often cause the check to be rejected and the information entered manually. 2008 Member Directory Coming The 2008 member directory is going to the printer this week and will be in the mail in a few days. Members on the club roster as of February 13 will be included unless they have opted out. Some members have chosen to be included in the directory but with limited information printed. Member information is also available on our secure website. As with the directory, members can choose to be included or not and can select which information is viewable. To find members electronically, log into the Member section by entering your GHIN number and password. There you can search by name and/or city and get a list of everyone who matches your search criteria. Golf Shop Online The Brad Lozares Golf Shop now has its own website. To book a tee time or see the latest specials, click the link in this article and bookmark the site. This way you can keep up to date with happenings at the golf course. Currently, Brad is offering 20% off selected in-stock equipment, a one hour personal lesson for $99 and a special on new grips for $8.99 per club. Go to the website and check it out. Tournament Tie-Breaker Policy Changed Ever been frustrated at the end of a PAGC tournament by the results of the tie breaking card playoff? Ever dropped from first to fourth with the same score as the winner? The Board of Directors has eliminated the card playoff from our tournaments except for a few exceptions. The most important is the card playoff for first place. Every tournament needs a winner and, where no on-course playoff is required, the tie will still be broken by a card playoff. In addition, at away tournaments where certificates are handed out, the card playoff will still be used for the certificates but the TOC points will be split among those in the tie. This change is now in effect for the 2008 tournament year and has been used for both the Turkey Shoot and the Ham Shoot. 2008 TOC Points Chase Shaping Up This year's TOC points chase is shaping up nicely. William Wei is atop the leader board having placed in the money four times following last year's TOC finals. He is followed closely by five others who are within 20 points. In case your wondering why you haven't seen last year's TOC points leader, Bob Spencer, he's been laid up with tendonitis in his elbow and hasn't played since December. There's been a sighting at the driving range so it looks like he's planning a comeback.
