Headlline: Message From Club President Mike Matkowski
Story: Like the rest of the country, we are not immune to the downturn in the economy. We have seen the membership in the club decline over the last 2 years from a normal rate of 500 plus, to the current membership of 338. This impacts revenue and the way we run the club.

A budget analysis committee looked at the clubs finances and concluded that if we ran the club, business as usual this year, we would have a $5000 plus deficit.

Thus the Board of Directors took the following actions to correct this imbalance. The member-guest for 2010 is being looked at as a self-supporting event. There will be more details coming out on this in the future. We had budgeted $3800 for the member guest. This was a large part of the deficit and has been put back into the treasury reducing the deficit.

A second change is that the signup fees for tournaments will be raised $3 per event. That’s $60 for a one day home tournament and $117 for a two day home tournament. This goes into effect starting with the Five Club Challenge on April 3. The schedule has been revised to reflect this cost increase. All changes could be revisited next year depending on the membership numbers. Thank you and see you on the course.
