NCGA Four Ball Net Qualifier (Two Man Teams)The official title for this event is the NCGA Four Ball Net Championship but too many golfers don't read the rule book (especially Rule 31) to see that Four Ball Play involves two-person teams.
Anyway, this event is played over 36 holes and we will be qualifying
two teams to play in a qualifying round to be held
at a local course on April 1, 2010. Teams can advance from that
qualifier to the finals to be played at Poppy Hills
and Spyglass Hill
May 17 and 18, 2010. Players Note: Signing
up for this qualifier is a team commitment to play in both of the
subsequent rounds. Players who will not be able to play on the
April and May dates can play in the club event but should notify the
tournament chairman that they will be unable to go on to either or both
of the subsequent rounds. Check with your partner to insure his
availability. Also take note of the newly adopted policy
concerning substitutions for NCGA tournaments under
POLICIES. In the qualifier portion of this tournament, the maximum index that can be used is 18.4 and there can be a maximum difference of 8 strokes between the course handicap of any two partners. Players with over 18.4 can play but can only use the 18.4 index. Likewise players with more than 8 strokes difference can play together but each player's handicap will be reduced by an additional 10% to make a total reduction of 20%. This is a USGA and NCGA reduction and will also be used in the qualifier and the final. This will be calculated by the tournament chairman. There will also be a standard PAGC tournament conducted as part of the event. Note that in that competition, the 18.4 maximum index difference will not be in force. Teams with a player who exceeds this limit will be given two different score cards for the two competitions.
