The Pro Team of Mark Madayag and Dan Jamati set a target score of 67
for the field to shoot at. Of the 25 teams that played, 13 beat the
target, 8 lost to the pros, and 4 teams managed a frustrating tie (since
the name of the tournament is BEAT The Pro, not TIE the Pro)
.

Shown to the left are Mark and Craig. Mark's partner left quickly after the event as did Alan Bushell, Craig's partner who helped the team to their winning 62 in the First Flight. On the right are Sam and Jeff Hebert, winners of Flight 2, who paired well for an amazing 59 to win the Second Flight. | ![]() |
In addition to the teams that placed in our club tournament (who all
were below 67), the following teams also prevailed over the pro team:
| Larry Bazinett-Geoffrey Bazinett | 62 |
| Reed Majors-Matt Davis | 66 |
| Bob Kelley-Rick Sturiza | 65 |
The Bazinett team was prevented by our club rules from participating in our part of the tournament since Geoffrey is still a junior. It is likely, however, that Larry may find a way to share some of his winnings in the Beat-The-Pro part of the tournament with his son. In addition, October 2002 marked the first time in the Bazinett family that Larry could not claim low family handicap.
