POPPY RIDGE FOUR BALL RESULTS
March 30
The thick morning fox blanketed the Poppy Ridge golf course and the
first two groups going off the first tee had some difficulty

locating their shots as they disappeared into the white background. However, after about 20 minutes, the fog lifted and revealed a golf course in beautiful shape, marred only by its ability to eat golf balls and force three putt greens.
When the round was over Ron Sherrin and Chuck Cali had prevailed with a net 63 in the first flight. Eddie Williams and Richard Nelson shot a net 64 to win the second flight. Congratulations to the winners and the other golfers who enjoyed our outing at one of the two NCGA owned golf courses.
This was the first use of the club's new laptop to do scoring at an away event. Thus, we have statistics which say that the toughest hole on the course was number 6 on Chardonnay, a tough uphill 404 yard par 4 with an average score of 5.98 strokes. Second play went to number 4 on Zinfindel, a downhill 388 yard par 4 with water on the left of the green. Judging from the statistics, there were no easy holes for the field.
