The official title for this event is the NCGA Four Ball Net Championship but too many golfers don't read the rule book (especially Rule 31) to see that Four Ball Play involves two-person teams.
Anyway, this event is played over 36 holes and we will be qualifying three two-person teams to play in a qualifying round to be held on August 7 tentatively schedule at either Poplar Creek or Shoreline. Teams can advance from that qualifier to the finals to be played Sept 29-30 at Spyglass Hill .
In the qualifier portion of this tournament, the maximum index that can be used is 18.4 and there can be a maximum difference of 8 strokes between the course handicap of any two partners. Players with over 18.4 can play but can only use the 18.4 index. Likewise players with more than 8 strokes difference can play together but the higher course handicap is reduced accordingly. This will be calculated by the tournament chairman. May handicaps will be used.
There will also be a standard PAGC tournament conducted as part of the event. Note that in that competition, the 18.4 maximum index and the 8 stroke maximum partner difference will not be in force. Teams who exceed these limits will be given two different score cards for the two competitions.
