Beat the Pros
September 15, 2007

Why is this man cringing?  The two innocent looking gentlemen on the right and the number 68 have something to do with it.  That's Brad Lozares on the left, Director of Golf, and those are two of his staff members, Brian Razzari and Mark Madayag, on the right.  In the annual Beat the Pros event, Brian and Mark posted a best-ball 68 for the field to shot at.  And boy did the field fire away!  23 of the 25 teams shot 67 or better to beat the pros and double the money they put up in the pro shop.  The word is out that Brad is heading to the bank for a small business loan.

This event was also a four ball team event with two flights competing for the usual TOC points and money to spend in the pro shop.  In the First Flight, Craig Allen and John Frykland ham-and-egged their way to a net 60 to win the top prize.  In the Second Flight, Doctor Bob (Kelley) and Doctor Bill (Dolan) also shot a 60 to take first place.  Bob claimed it could have easily been a 58 but that he missed two putts under three feet and had to settle for a 60.  It must have been the pressure!

Congratulations to all.  Enjoy spending your winnings in Brad's shop.
