Ken (Butch) Stalder and Jim (Sundance) Yeaman left no doubt that they were going on to the next round of NCGA qualifying.  Shooting a net 59 left them two strokes ahead of any other team and gave them the win in the first flight.  To determine the second qualifying team, the teams of Dave Brandi/Sam Giannotti and Jim Breedlove/Ray Mrofka went back out on the course for a playoff.

The first extra hole was halved in par 5's.  On the second, Dave and Sam bombed their drives down the middle while Ray hit it way right almost reaching the fourth fairway.  Figuring he had nothing to lose, Ray pulled out his driver and ripped a low running shot that ended up 10 feet above the hole.  Dave and Sam both hit the green leaving challenging putts for birdie.  Sam stopped his on the lip, inches from going in, but Dave drained his for a three.  Ray coolly walked up to his downhill slider and knocked it in for a three (net two) and a win for his team.
