New Member Tournament

Fortunately, the weather chose to cooperate and not rain on our new member
tournament. We enjoyed the company of eleven new members who had joined
since last year's New Member tournament. For some, this was their first
tournament golf experience. Some of the new members even placed in the
event and won prize money and those valuable Tournament
of Champions points.
There was just one flight playing from the white tees which as also a
fortunate thing. With the wet and sloppy conditions, the ball just wasn't
rolling very much. At the top of the pack was the team of John Frykland,
Craig Allen, Mike Johnson and Keith Arends who shot 19 under par 125 in this
best 2 of 4 format. That score tied the team of John Arnot, Don Graham,
Dan McNulty and Tracy Powell who finished second after a score card playoff.
Tracy's finish makes his record perfect for the year. He has placed in
every event so far going back to the Monterey Weekend at the end of October last
year.
