If you compare the numbers to last year's scores, the only conclusion you can come up with was that it was a tough day on the course.
The weather was not ideal with a cold wind blowing off and on but there were also occasional patches of sun to warm the players.
Last year we played here in April with sunny skies and warm
temperatures.
In the second flight, James Kaku had the best score in all three
groups with a great +9 in the modified Stableford scoring system.
Also in the second flight, Charley Farmer won the low gross even
though he insisted he wouldn't win anything. If he had stayed
until the end, you would have seen his smiling face on this page as
well.
In the first flight, tournament director Jim Mayer also played well
with a fine +5 to win the top net prize. Glen Esquivel
won low gross with his consistent play.
Finally, in the championship flight, long-time member Rocky Wolf,
who has found time to play in more events recently, won low gross.
Patrick Bealieau, formerly of Quebec, Canada, said the weather
didn't bother him at all as he won low net. His main point was that
nobody was playing at all back home right now.
