This year's staff team of Kevin Lozares and Mark Madayag
struggled to a 67 with Mark birdying the last two holes to reach that number.
All the teams who won money plus the other three listed below bested the pros
for a winning percentage of 12 out of 21. That's better than last year
when only six teams beat the pros. In the club four ball
competition, the President's Flight was won by the M & M boys. No, not
Mantle and Maris, but Mike Matkowski and Woody Maynard, both from
the Keystone State of Pennsylvania. Mike just missed an ace on 14 running
the ball past the hole to two feet where he knocked it in for a deuce. In
the picture above, the
two of them are holding a sign in honor of Patrick Beaulieu, Woody's
regular partner, who was in India on business. Woody must like this event
because he and Patrick won it last year.
The big story of the day, however, was Lou Sehl who, playing right
behind Matkowski, did ace the fourteenth hole sinking a five iron from 173
yards. Playing with Ray Fales, the two went really low with a net
61 to win the Director's Flight. As is custom after a hole-in-one, Lou
bought drinks for those club members who stuck around. Congratulations to
Lou and all the winners.
