Turkey Shoot

Great weather greeted the Palo Alto Golf Club annual Turkey Shoot. Seventeen
separate matches were contested for the coveted $25 Safeway gift card and the 25
TOC points. The feature match was between husband Gary Doyle and
his wife Kathy Frankland. In a Thursday practice round where both
played the white tees, Gary won easily. On Saturday, the women played the
red tees and gained a 500 yard advantage. Kathy came out on top besting
Gary 4 and 3. I know Kathy will keep the TOC points for herself but I
wonder if she'll share any of gift card.
On another note, it was good to see Dick Baker playing again after a
long layoff. Dick even managed to scratch out a 2 & 1 victory in his match
with Frank Cavaliere. Also, new member Joseph Kim, who
joined in October, won his match by the widest margin of the day beating his
not-to-be-named opponent 7 & 6. Another new member, David Lim, who
joined this week, also won his match 5 & 4. Congratulations to all the
winners.
