The PAGC Tournament Chairman's Job Description

The Palo Alto Golf Club anoints one of its members to serve as Tournament Chairman.  Usually this individual is trained by passing him some contracts for next year's away tournament, a schedule only partly worked out, and the good wishes of the Board.  The purpose of these web pages is to make sure that wisdom and experience get passed on in some way.  And one important task for each new TC is to add to and improve these pages for the next lucky guy.

Before leaving the exalted position of Tournament Chairman at the end of 2008, Mike Matkowski spent several hours updating this section of the website, originally created by Craig Allen, so that it conforms to current practices. The Board of Directors greatly appreciates his efforts as the club’s TC for 2007 and 2008 and especially appreciates his efforts to document the job.
