Coordination with the Webmaster
With signups available on the web, it is natural
that a lot of our members use the web site to gain tournament related
information. Starting with the schedule and going through the tournament
results and the TOC, it is one of our main links to our membership. John Frykland has agreed to assume
responsibility for the website as part of his membership duties. These
duties do not necessarily include responsibility for the CONTENT of the web
(that is the actual words). So whatever procedure is worked out between
he and the TC, the TC should do whatever writeups
are necessary for the pages to appear. One of the key web pages is the schedule.
In addition, for every tournament, their should be a hyperlink to the tournament description
page. The content for all of these pages should be provided by the TC
and updated as appropriate. Any changes to the schedule during the year
should also be passed on so that the website is updated. And for such
files, the best approach may be to give the TC FTP access so that he can
simply upload the updated file. The important thing in this relationship is to
make sure that both parties understand their responsibilities and which files
they are in control of. (Keeping backups is a good thing, too.) Last
