Each year we ask members to include a junior golf contribution when the send in their membership renewal form. A large percentage of the
membership contributes to this fund each year.
During the year, the Board of Directors allocates the money contributed to various Junior Golf programs.
In the past years, we have purchased monthly play cards for both the Gunn and Palo Alto golf teams and approved a contribution to the First
Tee of San Jose which also holds activities at Palo Alto Golf Course. Our club’s contribution will sponsor 12 juniors for the
spring session at Palo Alto Golf Course.
We all know that golf is getting expensive; the monthly play cards for juniors have gone up significantly as a
result of the general increase in fees. And of course, the club will accept gifts to the Jr. Golf fund at any time in the year. However, you
are strongly urged to think about helping out a little more in this area when your yearly renewal comes along.
And though our funds are limited, the Board will certainly listen to suggestions for other programs which might need some assistance.

The First Tee of San Jose is a life skills program which builds the character of
youth to help them succeed in life. We make the game of golf accessible to all children.
Volunteers assist both on course and in office for about three hours per week. Ideally,
volunteers have teaching, mentoring, coaching or golfing experience. Visit our Volunteer page online to get started.
