Summer is here and the weather is gorgeous.  This is the perfect opportunity to get out and apply all those tips you've been working on at the range.  Better yet. "Go Play!" as Old Tom Morris says. Next tournament is an ILN at Seascape on July 25 followed by our Stroke Play Championship on August 8 and 9.  Sign up for both today.

Palo Alto Golf Club Annual Meeting, May 9

Following our May 9 tournament at Palo Alto, the club held it's annual meeting to let members know how we are doing as a club.  The highlights included our recent acceptance by the IRS as an official non-profit organization, voting on two amendments to the by-laws, and the news from pro Rich Bin that the Palo Alto Golf Course would be open through the end of the year.  For a complete recap of the meeting, follow the link below.  If you'd like to review the minutes from the monthly board meetings, follow the second link below.

Pro Shop Announces Wednesday Rumble

The Wednesday Rumble is coming to the Palo Alto Golf course on August 12.  Don't worry. You won't see people flying off the top rope to land on an opponent.  This event starts at 5pm and is open to all players not just PAGC members.  Your $35 entry fee includes 9 holes of golf, a cart, dinner, prizes and more.  Please call Rich at Palo Alto Golf Course at 650-856-0881 to sign up...Handicap or not, come on out and have some fun.

pagc Changes to the Tournament Schedule

The tournament committee has added a second day to the Stroke Play Championship.  Day 1 is Saturday, August 8 at Poplar Creek.  That piece of the schedule has not changed.  With the Palo Alto Golf Course remaining open and the fact that this is the club championship, the committee has opted to add a second day on Sunday, August 9 at Palo Alto.  To be eligible for the championship and to win prizes and the coveted TOC points, you must sign up for both events.

pagc Thursday Match Play Team

The PAGC Thursday Match Play Team began play in this NCGA-sponsored competition back on June 11.  Playing in a group with Poplar Creek, Crystal Springs and Seascape, the team has compiled a 2 and 2 record in its first four matches.  The format is similar to the recently completed FIFA Women's World Cup with the winner in each group moving on to the knock-out round.  The team has two home matches remaining on the schedule and needs to win both to have a chance to advance.  As a note of interest, the Palo Alto Golf Club won the very first Saturday Match Play Tournament back in 1989.
