Following the last tournament of the year, Craig Allen retired from his many duties as a member and director of the Palo Alto Golf Club. In addition to his job as Tournament Chairman in 2002, Craig has worked tirelessly to organize and maintain the club's website where we all get the most current information about the club and its many events. Since he also retired from the working world in 2002, there's nothing left to do except play golf. Thanks, Craig, for a job well done.
Membership Chairman John Frykland has assumed Craig's job of webmaster. In addition to John's duties of handling applications and renewals, he will be maintaining the club's website. John has over 30 years experience in the software business including a 4-year stint as a software engineer with a local startup. Since 1989, he has been running his own business developing database applications for Bay Area companies.
To add a little spark and encourage members to use the website more, John has instituted several changes. First, you will notice that the ubiquitous green pages have been replaced with a softer look. New fonts, new colors and the addition of graphics are all designed to make reading easier. New navigation tools have also been added to allow quick access to the important pages. Check the section below for tips on finding tournament schedules, tee times and results. Finally, we have added a new section where members can share their photos. To help promote this area, we will have a monthly contest where the winning photo will be displayed on the main page until the next contest.
The many links on the left side of the web pages have been replaced by a few key buttons. For all important information, you need only one or two clicks to reach your destination. Here is a quick guide to help you find your way.
