August 10th. 2023 Board Meeting

Attendees: Doug Marinkovich, Christopher Walker, Nick Williams, Chris Dierkes, Jim Cowie, Rafael Carmona-Toscano, Franco Montes

Absence: Chuck Pickett, Andrew Clausen

·         Introduction of new communications director, Franco Montes

·         Review of audit with Chris Dierkes and Rafael Carmona-Toscano. Doug is clear and precise with tracking and organization. No obvious missing information on spot checking. Only complication is tracking the portion of refunds that are retained by the club for credit processing. Chris Dierkes will take over in 2024.

·         Chris Dierkes looked into Hole-in-One insurance. The insurance available was meant for single events, and not for an entire club season. Found three examples from other clubs, but all were expensive and not worth the effort. Will

·         New environmentally sensitive areas at Baylands – Players need to be made aware of new areas between 3 and 14, and between 6 and 7. Players can no longer play out of those areas. We will advertise out to players for Saturday 5-club, and hold a 5-minute meeting before the shotgun start to make sure everyone knows.

·         Issue with primary admin on Quickbooks. The board approves of changing the primary admin to Chris Dierkes from Edward Barkley.

·         Stroke Play Championship – Will continue with senior division. Players will pay extra to enter. Chuck Pickett will help mentor John Driver in running a 2-day event.

·         Handicap – 29 hard/soft caps still. A few exceptional scores. Found out the USGA issues with scores was being caused by BlueGolf interface with USGA website.

·         Finance – we will be adding the extra $7 to memberships for 2024 to offset the increased cost from NCGA.
